To be Chinese or not to be Chinese?

I asked my Chinese friend Stella about the validity of the following 3 Chinese traditions:
1. Ladybugs for good luck
2. The Invisible Red Thread and
3. The 100 Good Wishes Quilt

Here is Stella's reply:

Yes I've heard all of them. I wouldn't say they are the Chinese traditions. I'd say they are from some of the folk stories. Very interesting, hey? The second one appears in many books - novels or whatever books, mainly love books...but it can be applied to whoever that meet with each other and become friends or whatever, even your enemy. If the people's lives or activities are always tangled, yes, it applies.
